Something Exciting!

Hello World!

I know I haven’t blogged in a while, but.. I am working on something very, very exciting!

I have been busy over the last few days as well so it is taking me longer than I thought. I have been to the beach and had fish and chips on the seafront, I’ve been to a surprise 70th birthday party and I’ve had my hair dyed!

This blog is going to be short and sweet, but please bare with me for the mean time. All will be revealed very shortly.

My Bucket List!

DSCN2617Hello World!

There is a lot I would like to do in my lifetime, I don’t think I will achieve every single one, but I just thought I would give you a rough idea of some of the things as it may (or may not) inspire you guys to create your own bucket list one day.

  • Have a mud fight. To get messy and not have to worry about what my hair looks like or ruining my makeup.
  • Have a baby. Or, to have a family. As I have said in previous blogs, I am very family orientated and I would love to have a family of my own one day.
  • Have a dog. As part of my family.
  • Travel with the person I love. What’s better than travelling to different countries with the one person you want to spend the rest of your life with?
  • Give someone a makeover. I spend half of my life looking at makeup or experimenting with makeup, so it would be nice to practice on someone other than myself.
  • Start a book of memories with my best friend. Who doesn’t want to remember everything they laugh about with their best friend? And I love the idea of documenting everything I do with my best friend.
  • Make YouTube videos. This is something I have attempted to do in the past, but I feel as though it was a huge failure and I just embarrassed myself, so.. maybe one day I’ll gain the confidence and viewers to do it again.
  • Have a flour fight. Again, just get messy, without worrying what other people are going to think.
  • Make my parents proud. This is my biggest dream on my bucket list. If I can make my parents proud for the rest of my life, I will be forever happy.
  • Have my father walk me down the aisle. This is a dream moment in any girl’s life.
  • Buy my first home. I like the idea of owning my own home, but I’m not sure I’m ready just yet.
  • Feel confident about my body. This is one thing I certainly am not. Being proud of my body is a dream I’d like to accomplish sooner rather than later.
  • Live a life I’m proud of. I want to feel proud of myself (as well as making others proud). I want to be happy with what I have achieved.
  • Achieve my dreams. I want to achieve everything I dream of eventually. And I will put as much time and effort in as it takes.

I know this isn’t a very long post, but it’s a shorter version of my bucket list. Comment with anything you would like to achieve in your lifetime.

Our trip to Rome.

DSCN2400Hello World!

Today, I thought I would do a blog post about Mine and Liam’s trip to Rome in February 2016.

Our trip to Rome was for valentine’s day courtesy of Liam. He paid for both of us to go as a gift to me as he knows that I’ve always wanted to go. I didn’t really know what to do when I opened it; I wasn’t really sure what it was. As I read through all of the different sheets of paper, it all became clear and I let out a petty “Thank You!” I was so shocked, I didn’t really know what to say or do, I just looked and looked and looked at the sheets and I just took it all in. I think the fact that Liam had  contacted my work place, booked me the time off and organised the whole thing without me even being suspicious was amazing! Everyone around me knew apart from me! The best bit was I had only a week left at work and then we were off! It was all very surreal, I had never been on holiday without my family, but this was the time to be a grown up and not panic.. Yeah right!

So, myself and Liam managed to get through the airport by ourselves which was a huge achievement for someone who had never been abroad (Liam) and for someone who had never done it without a responsible adult around (myself). Liam was like a big kid when we took off. He was so amazed by the whole experience, he took so many photos as we were taking off and as we were flying through the clouds. I laughed at him for ages, but it was so nice to see him so happy and so amazed by something.

We arrived in Rome at around dinner time, so we checked into our hotel, dropped our stuff off and we went out for dinner. We didn’t want anything too fancy as we were both in our travelling clothes and we were both exhausted! We spent the first night having a walk around the Colosseum, which is such an amazing building. We were a bit disappointed as they were obviously doing some maintenance work on it and there was scaffolding everywhere which kind of takes the beauty out of it, but all the same, we enjoyed it. We had a bit of a walk around and then we went back to the hotel and got ready for bed.

The holiday was not a relaxing holiday at all! It involved a lot of walking, but it is such a beautiful city and we didn’t want to have a day off relaxing, we just wanted to get out and see everything! We spent our second day walking around the city, looking at lots of different buildings and monuments. We walked for 5 hours straight, but we walked from the Colosseum to the Vatican City. We saw the Trevi Fountain on our walk, so we made our wish and we threw in our coins (it is something you have to do if you go to Rome, just because..). We paid for tickets to go into the Colosseum and have a look around which was so surreal to think that we were standing in a building that people had died in and people had been tortured in, but it was so beautifully built. Once we had looked around the colloseum, we got on a bus and we went to the Vatican City to see what was there. The only problem was, you had to pay to get into a lot of the buildings there and it wasn’t cheap! We spent a short time there before we got the bus back to the colloseum to then walk back to the hotel where we got changed before going out for more food.

On our last day, we had to be out of our hotel by 12pm but our transfer wasn’t picking us up until 2pm, so we had to find something to do, that wasn’t too far away as we had our suitcases and hand luggage with us! We decided to just get some lunch in a little café and have a little walk around before getting on the transfer back to the airport.

Again, on the plane home, Liam was like a big kid, taking more pictures and looking even more excited than when we took off from England. Although it had been a really lovely week, we were both more than exhausted and we were so ready to have a good nights sleep in our own bed. When we landed back in England, my mum and dad were there to meet us, ready to drive us home.

It was a really lovely holiday and if anyone asks me about it, I will tell them to go. It is a lot of walking and by no means relaxing, but it is a truly beautiful city and I’m so glad that we went. I am so lucky to have a boyfriend like Liam who is willing to pay for a holiday to somewhere I have wanted to go for years and I couldn’t have wished to have spent my time in the city with anyone but him.

Getting to know me TAG!

DSCN2577.JPGHello World!

So, I thought I would do the ‘Getting to know me’ tag as I feel you may not know as much about me as you would like to. I’ve been waiting years for this!

dory ticketsHello World!

So on Friday (29th July 2016), myself and Liam went to watch ‘Finding Dory’ and oh my goodness, it was everything I had hoped it would be! It had links to ‘Findng Nemo’ in it as well which I thought was great, as it kind of reminds you how Dory, Marlin and Nemo met and what they had to go through in the first movie (even though everyone has probably seen it a million times and doesn’t need reminding). I really like the fact that Finding dory is the story of how Dory dealt with/deals with her ‘short term memory loss’ as a baby and now, and how she lost her family in the first place and how it follows her journey to finding them again, but it also has parts where Marlin and Nemo have to find Dory as she goes missing. I’m not going to say too much on the film as I know a lot of people won’t have seen it yet, but if you haven’t.. please go and see it! Your childhood will be complete!

Saturday was a busy day! We had a BBQ at our house with 40-50 people for my sister’s birthday. The day was spent tidying up and preparing food for people to start arriving at 7pm. There was a lot of drinking but the majority of people seemed to handle their drink pretty well. Towards the end of the night, people decided it was a good time to get in the hot tub; when I say towards the end of the night, it was around 12am! Everyone had a good night though, there were water fights, dancing, drinking, photos and food.. what more do you need at a party?

Today is Sunday and today has been a very lazy day. We were up until 2am last night tidying up after the party. No one got up until 11am/12pm so it’s been a very chilled out kind of day. I thought I would write this blog to kind of update you all as well as tell you all about Finding Dory. Tomorrow is  back to work after my week off and I am not looking forward to being up at 5.45am to get to work for 7.30 all week! I can’t tell you what my blogs will be about when I go back to work as there’s not a lot I will be able to share due to working with children and confidentiality. I will do my best to blog about interesting/fun things, but you will have to bare with me and let me know in the commments if there is anything that you would like me to blog about.

Summer has begun!

DSCN2554Hello World!

So, I said in my last post that the next few days would consist of decorating and celebrating and I was right! Yesterday, we decorated for most of the day and then celebrated Sam’s (my sister) birthday by going to the seafront, spending money in the arcades and getting fish and chips in a restaurant called ‘Hinchinbrook Seafood Grill’ and if anyone is ever on Yarmouth seafront, go to this place! The food was awesome! We ended the night watching the fireworks on the beach which is something that we tend to do every year as a family thing; it also means that summer has begun! So, (I’m getting a grip on the whole blogger thing) I took my camera with me to see if I could get a picture of the fireworks. If I’m honest, I was expecting to fail, but much to my surprise, I didn’t do too bad!

Today, it was back to decorating and the whole house is upside down! Tomorrow we’re finishing off the last few touches to the house and then it’s time to tidy up ready for a BBQ on Saturday to further celebrate Sam’s birthday!

I bought myself an A4 notebook just for me to write down any ideas for blog posts through out the day. I have written down a few ideas already and I hope to write about them all eventually. And obviously if any readers would like me to blog about something in particular, I am more than happy to (just leave a comment and let me know).

I’m in a ‘blogging’ mood tonight as well so I’m debating pre-writing one for tomorrow so that if I’m not in the mood tomorrow, I have one already! I feel like it’s a good idea to have a few pre-written posts just in case I’m in a really bad mood one day and don’t want to sit and tell you all how much of a bad mood I’m in. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to not blog whenever I have a bad day because I think it’s good for people to know that everyone has bad days!

UPDATE!

IMG_2492Hello World!

I just thought I would update you guys as I haven’t blogged in around a week and I am almost half way through my week off!

So, we have been decorating the house and repainting lots of ornaments, benches, plant pots etc. in the garden as well as jet washing patios! Our house has had lots of TLC in the last few days and is still awaiting lots to be done this week. We have all been helping with different bits around the house and it has taken half the time it would have!

Me and Liam have been shopping together the last couple of mornings, spending more money than we probably should, but it was nice to just have some ‘us time’. We went to my Nanny and Grandad’s as well and we walked their dog, Storm. They can’t take her for walks because of bad knees and bad backs so we try to get round there and walk her when we can. She’s an Alsatian and she’s beautiful. She’s so friendly and loves a game to release some energy. Again, it’s a chance for us to have some ‘us time’ and to just be silly together and laugh until our bellies hurt (which we do a lot.)

Tomorrow is my sister, Sam’s, 22nd birthday so we are either going to Cromer for fish and chips on the seafront (depending on the weather) or, we are going to grab a pub lunch. Either will be nice! Then on Saturday, everyone is coming round for a BBQ (again, depending on the weather), by everyone, I mean friends and family!

The next few days are set to consist of decorating and celebrating!

And how can I forget, on Friday Liam is taking me to see ‘Finding Dory’ (29th July, the day it comes out in the UK!) and I am super excited! It is a film that I have been waiting to see for like, 10 years and now it’s here and I will be watching it from the gallery in the cinema!

Now, to end this blog, I would like to ask you what you would like me to post as a blog, would you like a product review? or a Q&A type of thing? or a Tag e.g. “TMI Tag”? I want you to decide! Like I said in my first blog post, I am completely new to this whole thing and I would really appreciate some input from the people reading my blog!

Until next time!

Love, Gemma x

Today was a good day!

Hello World!

Today was a good day! It has been super hot (which is always a huge surprise in England) and it’s a Sunday! Which means that I was actually able to enjoy the sun by having a water fight with my family! I also went with my boyfriend, Liam, to the beach and we got an icecream. I had ‘cookies and cream’ and ‘lemon crunch’ and he had ‘Triple chocolate’.

We also decided tonight that next year, we’re going on holiday to Tenerife! It will be the first time all six of us (Myself, Liam, Mum, Dad, Sam and Bod) have been on holiday together. We went to Tenerife in October 2015 but Liam wasn’t with us! But, Myself and Liam did go to Rome in February 2016 for Valentine’s day (courtesy of Liam, I am one very lucky girl!) and it was amazing. There was so much to see and do everyday, and  it is a truely beautiful city.

Tomorrow is back to work for the week! A busy week at that, but it is my last week until I have a week off with all of my family; a well deserved break for us all!

I hope you all have a lovely week ahead of you, whether you’re working, at school/college or if you have the week off. Enjoy it and if you do have a bad day, just rememeber “Tomorrow is a fresh start.”

First blog post

Hello world!

This is my first ever blog post, how exciting!

I have been at work all day today. It’s not fun being out of the front door by 6.30am and not coming back through it until 6pm! It was quite a busy day and now all I want to do is have a nice hot bath, read my book ‘Girl Online’ by Zoe Sugg and crawl into bed.

Me and my mum just went shopping and it absolutely chucked it down with rain! We got soaked running from the shop to the car but it was all good fun.

I don’t really know what else to say other than I hope you’ve all had a really lovely day whether you’ve been at work, school, college or at home. Enjoy some ‘you time’ and prepare for tomorrow!

Love, Gemma x
